Tavish Scott and Alex Cole-HamiltonScottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP has congratulated the party’s new candidate for Edinburgh Central, Alex Cole-Hamilton.

Commenting, Mr Cole-Hamilton said:

“Edinburgh Central is a new seat for the 2011 election. On the 2007 vote, we would have taken this seat from Labour, but I’m taking nothing for granted.

“Over the next ten months, I intend to knock on 10,000 doors, meeting as many local residents as possible and acting on their concerns.

“In this part of the city people are looking to us as a serious alternative to a Labour party that has run out of steam and is responsible for the economic mess that we face both in the city and the country at large.”

Mr Scott added:

“Alex Cole-Hamilton will fight a vigorous campaign in Edinburgh Central.

“He is a strong local candidate, who will be an excellent MSP for the city.”
