Health Board must drop Health Visitor plan11.09.39am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 24th Sep 2008 Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP has urged Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board to drop plans that would see Health Visitors removed from GP practices. GPs in the area have collected 5536 letters from patients opposing the plans, which they believe would compromise patient care. Commenting, Mr Finnie said: “I am extremely concerned that frontline professionals believe that these plans will compromise patient care. This is clearly a view shared by many patients in the area. “Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board must drop this ludicrous idea of removing Health Visitors from GP practices. I also hope that no other Health Board across Scotland is considering introducing similar proposals.”
